1-30-10 - Things that are different in the classroom due to the technology
What I notice in my classroom that is different when technology was introduced and used in the classroom the students were excited about using the technology. As the students starting using the Photostory and the Video Camera I found out that it was pretty hard for my students to work on these programs due to their low level in academics. I practically had to download every picture they used in Photostory. It was very time consuming and frustrating for me. The kids liked working with the program and enjoyed the color changes they could do to their presentation from the background to the fonts. When the stories were done I displayed the story and the kids were happy to see their own work on the screen, they smiled when they saw the storeis and pointed to their own story. They looked proud of what they did.

This year started good and it has become better with the use of the technology that I have brought into the clssroom. The students are engaing, willing to learn, excited about learning new things and they love the technology that we are using in the classroom. More and more each day I try to incorporate one technology item such as a story that I created on Photostory or clips of Moviemaker with their pictures on them. My students love to share their thougohts and their work and are excited when I use the camera to record them.
My class is a very challenging class with the academics.I also have to think of ways of using this technology to better help the students. I have used pictures of ABCs and 123s and use Photostory to make a story telling and show it to the students. They have also used the Photostory to make a story about their journal writing.
